A paint program is important when building a website. This is the software that helps put together all of the pictures, images, and even a logo. There is an old saying that states "a picture is worth a thousand words". This is just as true with websites as it is for regular photographs and where a good paint program comes in. We are not talking that little paint program that sometimes comes with a new computer system; we are talking something that has a bit more power and versatility.
There are many paint programs out there and many of them have similar features. We use Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 . After using Paint Shop Pro for many years and have set up countless companies, agencies, and organizations with this program, we have found it to be the best bang for the buck. Everyone that we know that has tried it, has loved it. And the best part, it usually costs less than other programs of the same caliber.
Paint Shop Pro is downloadable with a free trial from Corel, or you can purchase the boxed version. The cost runs right around a hundred dollars. The help files are extremely easy to use and understand. It can adjust, crop, and fix all your photos and images. It can also help to create a logo, adjust images, and help create a background image (if needed) with seamless tiling. Plus, with a small and inexpensive add-on (around twenty-five dollars) it can also create animated gifs. Paint Shop Pro has been able to do everything we have ever wanted, both personally and professionally.
Adobe Photoshopis also a terrific program and is an industry standard. However, unless you received a free copy of it as part of some software package, you are going to pay a lot more for it. It too will be able to do probably everything you would ever need. However, since we are trying to keep your costs down, all of the demonstrations will be using Paint Shop Pro.
