Supplies
Just like with any other project, you are going to need a few supplies. The good thing is that you probably already have these supplies. If you don't already have them, they can be gotten at either a minimal cost, or for free.
The first thing needed are some very basic computer skills. And we're talking basic here folks. You need to know how to click a mouse and how to drag and drop text. You also need to know how to copy and paste text and how to use a basic file structure (you know, files go in folders and folders can go in other folder). You need to know how to find files, copy them, and yes, even save them. These are things you probably know how to do all of this already. And you most likely use these skills every time you use a computer, and don't even know you doing it..
Of course, you will also need a computer. It doesn't need to be a fancy, high-tech, state of the art, all the bells and whistles computer. Just one that works reliably and has current and up-to-date anti-virus software installed. If you don't have a reliable computer, consider getting one. A Windows based system is preferred over a Mac. In a small business environment, a Windows based system will have more business software options than a Mac will. It is not a good idea to use a public access computer to build a website. When transferring files to a secure portion of a server system and there is a larger likelihood of bad things happening through a public access system.
Ok, let's make a shopping list of all the stuff and things you are going to need to build your website. Don't worry; we are going to go over each of these items in greater detail.
